Got Sun Broadband Wireless working in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex

When I signed up for the Sun Broadband Wireless (SBW), the only thing that made me decide that the Huawei E220 modem (SBW modem) would work in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex was hope and how easy it was to setup to the modem using this guide: Using Sun Broadband Wireless with Ubuntu Linux in 10 Easy Steps.

The brochures said it was supposed to be 2mbps but I don’t really care. Other service providers charge higher with the same speed.
So far, I’m happy.

Very early in my subscription for the service Sun failed to live up to my expections.

Did you get the easy broadband option (pay 2,500 for the modem then 799 per month no contracts) or the 799 per month with the contract?
If you have a small laptop like the eeepc you can use SBW throughout most of metro manila. I’ve discovered that the whole MRT line has strong signals. So does most malls
I got the easy broadband option because there is a probability that I would be moving out. I don’t know where to move yet that’s why I got the easy broadband option because the place I might be moving to would not have the signal.
By the way, if you already have a line from suncellular, you can subscribe to the broadband for only 649 with a minimum of 2 years holding period, depending on the phone you chose with your subscription.
I do have the eeepc but I’m too scared to pull it out of tha bag when I’m inside the MRT. And you won’t even have a chance of pulling it out when it’s peak hours.

I would say they need to put Part Of Pasig, Part of QC and not Makati, Pasgi, etc..!! So their subscriber is getting frsutrated!!!
